This Privacy Policy explains how the current version of Lugexa – Luggage Management (the “App”) handles information. It applies to the public website at lugexa.com and the current local-first Android app.
1. The current App
No Lugexa account is required. The App is designed to store luggage records locally on the device on which it is used. At present, Lugexa does not provide cloud synchronisation and no Lugexa server receives your luggage records or luggage photographs.
2. Information stored on the device
Depending on how a hotel team uses the App, a luggage record may include a tag number, number of bags, storage location, colour, notes, dates, status and an optional photograph selected or taken by the user. Users should avoid entering personal data that is not necessary for luggage operations.
These records and photographs are stored locally on the device. The hotel or other organisation operating the device is responsible for deciding what information is entered, controlling access to the device and complying with its obligations concerning guest and staff information.
3. Optional photographs and retention
Taking or uploading a photograph is optional. Users can store a record without a photograph. The App provides a configurable photograph-retention setting and can automatically delete photographs after the selected period. A luggage record or history entry may remain after its photograph has been deleted.
4. Permissions
The App may request access to the device camera or photo library when a user chooses to take or select a photograph. These permissions are used for that feature. Users can manage permissions through Android settings.
5. Data Lugexa does not currently receive
In the current version, Lugexa does not receive luggage records or photographs through a Lugexa server. The App currently uses no advertising and no analytics. It does not require an account and does not include Lugexa cloud storage.
6. Website and support
The public website does not currently use analytics, advertising trackers, contact forms or non-essential cookies. If you email support@lugexa.com, Lugexa will receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include. This information is used to respond to your enquiry, maintain support records and protect the service. Please do not send real guest photographs or unnecessary personal data.
7. Deleting data
Users control data held by the App. Records can be deleted using available in-app controls. App storage can also be cleared through Android settings, and uninstalling the App may remove local data. Users should export anything they need to retain before deleting App data. Automatic photograph deletion follows the retention period selected in settings.
8. Security and backups
Local-first storage reduces transmission to Lugexa, but no device or storage method is completely secure. The organisation using the App is responsible for device security, access controls, backups and appropriate operating procedures. Lugexa cannot restore local data that has been lost, deleted or made inaccessible.
9. Children
Lugexa is intended for use by hotel and luggage-storage staff, not by children. It is not designed to collect information directly from children.
10. Possible future online services
If optional online services are introduced, they may include accounts, authentication, cloud storage, cloud photographs, synchronisation, multi-device access, subscriptions, advertising, property management, web access or PMS integrations. These are not features of the current version.
Before any such service is introduced, this policy will be updated to explain what information is collected, why it is used, the lawful basis, retention, sharing, international transfers, security, user choices and applicable rights. Where required, users will be given appropriate notice or asked for consent.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, website, legal requirements or our practices change. The effective date at the top will show when the latest version took effect.
